Are “stone” and “flexibility” two related concepts? Maybe yes.
During my stay in Den Haag studying at the Royal Academy of Art I had the enormous pleasure to meet Françoise Berserik, a well known letter carver from The Netherlands.
As a challenge, the final project I did with her help was this spencerian-inspired piece of lettering, a piece that once carved in blue stone from Belgium makes the rigidness of this material look more fluid.
Have a look at its project and how this not-command-z project evolved from the initial vector into the final carved stone shaped with sunlight and casted shadows.
